Turtletown, TN is two miles west of North Carolina and thirteen miles north of Georgia.
Turtletown was named after a Cherokee Indian Chief, Chief Turtle. The Cherokee Indians at one
time had camped along Turtletown Creek. Turtletown is located in the Tennessee Overhill Country.
The Overhill Towns are clustered in Polk, Monroe, and McMinn Counties.
The Turtletown area offers properties with beautiful mountain and lake views. The
Turtletown area includes three National Forests, Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee, Nantahala National Forest
in North Carolina and the Chattahoochee National Forest in Georgia.
